Home Automation

Well the focus is moving and we are finding that our new generation of power starved clientell are interested in the energy saving characteristics of a top end home automation installation. Typically complete shutdown of everything that does not have to be switched on when the family has left the house to go to work, school or a vacation, At the push of the "Away Mode Button" the smart home disconnects all the required circuitry from the supply, arms the security and CCTV systems and instructs the irrigation system not to start up in rainy conditions. The "Welcome" button re activates all the circuitry as you walk through the front door. Dimming all the lights to 90% of maximum will afford more energy savings and will improve lamp life hopefully preventing the homeowner from being pressured into horrible flourescent lights. As Christopher Hart said last night, we must not accept power outages as normal and we must not accept ESKOM and Governments failure to provide and deliver, I come back again to the "ELECTRICITY FOR ALL CAMPAIGN" this government has failed its people and failed on its promises to deliver better living conditions for all

from the articles i have been reading it seems this the issues of growing economy , lack of capital investment in new power stations etc etc its all "smoke screen" - the real issues are that Eskom has 25% of its capacity down at any given time to they are unable to meet even normal demand , never mind increased demand
the lack of maintenace over the last 10 years & fire fighting attitude has resulted in this mess

Yup could not agree with you more, ab salute miss-management, incompetence and disregard from a new regime too usy getting there own domestic aspirations up to speed, forgetting the people that got them into power and completely focused on Now with little regard for Tomorrow. This I,m alright Jack attitude has cost the taxpayer millions of wasted taxes

Unfortunately I do not know who Christopher Hart is but I agree and if a government does not have the numbers to run a nation well it must go home along with all those "pilot fish" and attache that have illegally
drawn benefit.

Providing energy is primary and if you're not able to do so and the only countermeasure to reduce the use of kw is hiking up on the costs well my broer its time for you to duck.
