Hi

I am interested if anyone has any feedback on a new C-Bus Energy Metering System called Em20 manufactured by a company called synctek (www.synctek.com.au)?
They apparently have developed a C-Bus Energy Metering system that connects directly to the C-Bus network and can measure 3 phase electrical energy, gas and water consumption all form a single meter. Has anyone used these units in a multi-appartment buildings as I have a current project that requires energy & water metering for 24 appartment blocks?

Re: C-Bus Energy Metering Device

I have checked the Synctek Website and the C-Bus Energy Meter Option for their Energy Metering device with the Clipsal C-Bus Interface is not due to be released until december. They mention that the C-Bus Energy Meter Option supports multi-phase wiring and you can have as many as sixty cbus energy meters on the C-Bus network. It also has Modbus and Ethernet options. I think this will be a great addition for C-Bus Systems to have energy metering, it will really improve the home automation aspects because energy metering for homes is a good idea. They say this energy meter will also monitor gas and water consumption at the same time. Can't wait to get my hands on one of these units.

I have recently been in telephone contact with Synctek regarding the Em20Cbus Energy Meter. They have now provided more information about this energy meter on their website (www.synctek.com.au) The cbus version of this energy meter is now completing site trials and expected to be released in first quarter/2010. There is also some discussions about this energy meter on the Clipsal forum website at www.cbusforums.com/forums/

The company also said that they are presently having talks with a number potential international distributors for the UK and US markets - so hopefully these meters will be available in the UK soon?
